Home Care For Adults | New York

CDPAP Saint Lawrence County

The Consumer-Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) stands out as a distinctive program funded by Medicaid. It caters to individuals with chronic health conditions or disabilities who need home care and assistance with daily activities. What sets CDPAP apart is its empowerment of eligible Medicaid recipients to manage their own care. Participants have the freedom to select their caregivers, including family members or friends, and are also responsible for setting their caregiver's schedule and work directives. This autonomy enhances their sense of independence and comfort in their own homes.

Comfort and Independence

Your Care - Our Passion

The goal of CDPAP is to bestow recipients with decision-making power, letting them decide the nature, provider, and delivery mode of their care.

Caregiver Compensation and Benefits

Variable Compensation

The pay for family caregivers can differ based on several factors such as the nature of weekly tasks, hours worked, and the location where services are provided. Generally, hourly rates are in the range of $16.20 to $21.09. These figures represent a broad spectrum and are not indicative of the highest possible rates within the CDPAP.

Overtime Compensation

Caregivers are eligible for overtime hours and corresponding pay. The amount of care a consumer needs is evaluated by a nurse, who then helps establish your work schedule. Overtime wages typically vary between $24 and $31.63 per hour.

Wellness Benefits for Caregivers

In addition to receiving payment for caring for a loved one, caregivers can benefit from complementary counseling services, access to local caregiver support programs, and participation in caregiver wellness initiatives.
